Our Programs

Mayor Don Fox presents Key to the City to WCBHC president Mary Harris at museum opening in 2004.

WCBHC is proud to sponsor a series of events and community service projects to bring people together, honor members of the community or showcase the collections of the Roy Bailey African American History Center and Museum.

Annual events include:

Martin Luther King Celebration.
Seventy-Plus Honors Celebration.
Black History Month Celebration
Heritage Day
Fun Day for children and youth
Back to School Celebration

Ongoing events include:

"Night of Fun" events designed as social get-togethers and to raise funds for the restoration of historic Pickett Chapel
Monthly presentations at the Roy Bailey African American History Center
Weekly partnership with a community after-school program
Historical display: A.C. Wharton's store at Fiddler's Grove
